CR Olachea or Charles R. Olachea grew up in Shelley, Idaho, and graduated from Idaho State University.
In 1983, LT Olachea served in Korea with the Second Infantry Division. Next came Honduras with Joint Task Force—Alpha.
Later, he joined the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). For 28 years as a Special Agent, he investigated high-level domestic and international drug traffickers.
His book “Dead Man Zone,” introducing Rip Razorton as the protagonist, is based on CR Olachea’s experiences while serving in South Korea.
