Jerry Biggs was born in Lubbock, Texas and moved with his family to Clarinda, Iowa when he was 6-years-old.

He was a foreign exchange student to Chile for a year in high school and his initial major in college was Spanish. In 1968 he graduated cum laude from Princeton University with a B.A. in French. After graduation, Jerry attended the Goethe Institut for German in Munich, Germany prior to his Army service.

In the Army, he served as a Field Artillery officer for I Corps in the Republic of Korea and as a Company Commander at Fort Polk, LA. He returned to school and earned a Master of Arts in Teaching (French) at the University of Chicago.

After teaching French for a year, he returned to school and earned his J.D. from Iowa University College of Law. Jerry spent thirty years in private practice and as a County Prosecuting Attorney in both Iowa and Missouri.

He is fluent in French and Spanish, passable in German, Russian, and Hangul. He currently resides near his two daughters in Cave Creek, Arizona.
